How you get to help us do that in this role
Directly supervise and manage the day-to-day field work for the construction of underground water mains, sanitary sewers, and storm sewer systems.

What you’ll do as an Open Cut Pipe Crew Foreman

  • Manage project schedules, budgets and quality standards for the project.
  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans; ability to make changes when necessary due to weather, supplies, delivery and personnel.
  • Ability to manage and lead while also contributing to the successful and safe completion of projects in a timely manner.
  • Working with our management team to determine hiring needs, deadlines for specific tasks, as well as safety protocols.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors.
  • Maintain daily company project logs, daily reports, safety reports, morning toolbox talks, and maintenance requests.
  • Coordinate materials, trucking, subcontractors, and all other daily project needs.
  • Prioritize safety by ensuring that all safety rules are always followed. 
About you
  • Experience installing a variety of pipe types and diameters at exceptional depths. While employing various support of excavation methods and utilizing dewater systems in complicated environments.
  • Competent Person with in-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines, trench excavation safety, construction equipment and procedures including job safety analysis and daily site inspections.
  • Skilled in safe trenching procedures, shoring and shielding, and soil classification to manage excavation, backfilling, and compaction techniques.
  • Capable of operating and inspecting heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, backhoes, and compactors.
  • You must possess leadership skills for effectively delegating tasks to lower level managers, subcontractors, and construction workers.
  • Safety and quality are a reflection of who you are.
  • Your driver’s license reflects a safe driving history.
  • You've earned a High School diploma or equivalent.
Even better (but not required) if you have
  • A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

  1. How much travel can I expect? The amount of travel fluctuates based on where we win the opportunity to do projects. We aim to stay within a 3 hour travel radius. When traveling, you can expect a 4-day work week. We pay for the crews lodging, per diem and a weekly dinner.
  2. Is this seasonal or year round work? We haven’t laid off in 4 years, our goal is year-round work.
  3. Is there opportunity to grow? There's always room for growth, and that is based on what you put in, your efforts, attitude, and goals.
  4. Can I earn overtime? Yes, and we also want you to have a personal life. You can expect to be able to earn 7-8 hours per week over 40.
